MX-ONE™ Version 3.2 Telephony System I & M LZU 102 1704

Overview

The MX-ONE™ Version 3.2 Telephony System I&M course is designed for engineers who are required to install, configure and maintain the Telephony System part of a multi-LIM MX-ONE™ system.

The course covers manual installation of the hardware and software in the Telephony System and configuration and maintenance specific to the Telephony System.

The course is designed to educate the student on relevant Telephony System issues and does not cover installation, configuration or maintenance of the Linux operating system.

Attendance on the course is a necessary step toward achieving competence certification in the Telephony System. Students required to achieve certification must also complete therelevant test available on Weblearn (EETT-23019).

Target audience

The course is designed for Service Partner and customer engineers who need a technical and detailed understanding of the MX-ONE™ Telephony System.

Prerequisites

To maximize the practical elements of the Telephony System I&M course, a web-based course and test, MX-ONE™ Version 3.1 Basics, exists to prepare students with necessary background knowledge. Potential students must complete the MX-ONE™ Version 3.1 Basics course and test prior to attending the MX-ONE™ Version 3.1 Telephony System I&M:

• LZU 102 1703 MX-ONE™ Version 3.2 Basics Web-Based Training

• MX-ONE™ V. 3.1 Basics Technical EETT-23018

Although the Ericsson MX-ONE™ system is a standalone solution, the product has strong MD110 background. Basic MD110 knowledge is not covered in the course. Students must therefore be competent with MD110 configuration and maintenance. Basic Linux knowledge is also very helpful. It is strongly advised that students have attended/completed the following:

• Voice over IP basic knowledge EETT-01003

• Technical certification MD110 BC12 EETT-01001 or

• Technical certification for Telephony Switch EETT-23011 or

• Technical certification for resellers EERT-01002

• MX-ONE™ Version 3 Linux EETT-23016

Main Objectives

The course aims to provide students with detailed information on how to install, configure and maintain the Ericsson MX-ONE™.

In the installation section of the course, students will complete practical exercises in the setup of Telephony System hardware (cabling up servers, Media Gateways and inter LIM boards) and installation of software to create a multi-LIM system.

In the configuration section of the course, students will aim to initiate and test extensions (legacy, H.323, SIP), routes (ISDN and SIP), and call logging resources in the MX-ONE™ as part of a mixed MX-ONE™/MD110 network. The GUI application, Manager Telephony System, is introduced to aid configuration.

In the maintenance section of the course, students will be provided with the opportunity to study alarms, execute fault finding procedures, complete backup and reloads, update firmware and investigate redundancy and system security.

Upon completion of the course, students will have a thorough understanding of the MX-ONE™ system and be able to configure and manage the system and deliver second line support and maintenance.
